Services for enterprises and the public sector
Enterprises have a wide variety of different requirements: Market strategies, product development or questions about finance are just some of the topics, if however predominant ones. And the public sector also needs effective and targeted support for its measures in the areas of structural and innovation policy. Both are core tasks for ZENIT GmbH, a consulting firm based in Mülheim an der Ruhr.
As National Contact Point for various EU programmes on behalf of the national government, ZENIT makes an important contribution to increasing the number of German participants by offering a complete service package which includes advice for applicants and discussion of project ideas. Programme management also covers marketing and PR activities, time planning, project monitoring and budget control, organisation of events, reporting, supervision of funding as well as transparent and ongoing communication with the client.
As one of the European Commission’s Innovation Relay Centres and thus part of the largest technology transfer network world-wide, ZENIT has actively contributed since 1995 to transnational technology transfer. The IRC connects knowledge, technologies and people: from NRW to 32 target countries and vice versa. This represents an excellent starting point for establishing cross-border business contacts and partnerships for our mostly small and medium-sized clientele. Whether sales, development, purchasing or technology agreements, ZENIT assists its clients in defining search profiles, disseminates offers and requests throughout the whole of the European Union and offers its support in the realisation of co-operation projects.
As Euro Info Centre, ZENIT has provided its clients since 1987 with information on all EU issues: From A for Athens to Z for Zaragoza.
Apart from its membership in these two networks, ZENIT has been responsible as Co-ordinator in the framework of international consortia on behalf of various Euro-pean Commission General Directorates for the implementation of numerous projects in the areas of technology support and transfer, regional development, funding and co-operation advice and mediation.
ZENIT GmbH also demonstrates its project management skills in the running of vari-ous projects and programmes of the Federal State of North Rhine-Westphalia. It is the administrative office for the regional initiative “NRW: Future through Innovation” (Zukunft durch Innovation.NRW) and central contact point for information about re-gional, national and EU funding. For our small and medium-sized clientele, we check whether R&D projects are eligible for funding, advise on suitable programmes, help in project planning – including the identification of project partners – and assist in formu-lating applications and in project implementation.
For enterprises, ZENIT can offer many of its services at favourable conditions or even free of charge since – wherever possible – it uses public funding to cover its costs.
One of the main pillars of ZENIT is the ZENIT Association (Trägerverein ZENIT e.V.), the main objective of which is to promote contacts between entrepreneurs and other decision-makers. With its entrepreneurs’ meetings, it offers an exclusive forum for open-minded discussion and its cluster events give members and guests the oppor-tunity to exchange ideas and launch joint activities.
The shareholders of ZENIT GmbH, which was founded in 1984, are the ZENIT Association (Trägerverein ZENIT e.V.) with its some 200 member enterprises, the Federal State of North Rhine-Westphalia as well as a consortium of banks comprising the NRW.BANK, the private Bankenvereinigung NRW and the WGZ-Bank AG West-deutsche Genossenschafts-Zentralbank (WGZ BANK). ZENIT employs some 45 people, most of whom have many years’ practical experience in business and either an engineering or economics background
