History
Our founder, the Italian immigrant Romeu Masini, arrived in Brazil in the end of the XIX century and began his activities in São Paulo doing maintenance service in cutlery articles and surgical instruments.
With the crescent search for these products in the Brazilian market, Romeu Masini began to bring them from Europe to supply his usual customers.
With the advent of World War I and the impossibility to keep importing these articles from the “Old World”, Romeu Masini decided to begin the manufacturing of these products in São Caetano do Sul, São Paulo, on a 1,000 m2 terrain, next to São Paulo Railway where he founded in 1915, Fábrica Artefacto Metalúrgica Italiana (Italian Factory of Metallurgical Artifacts).
Based initially on the production of home articles (jars, vases) and cutlery (foam and soap dishes), the Italian Metallurgic developed its marketing participation with the medical-hospital equipments (drums at frist, followed then by the containers, bowls, trays, etc).
Nowadays, FAMI-ITÁ is run by Romeu Masini’s successors, and continues to provide solutions to healthcare, offering traditional products, with the technological development requested by the most advanced markets around the world.
To reach this level, Fami-Itá enhanced its productive processes, invested on the growth and modernization of the industrial plant, new research of materials, development of new products, employees’ training, and mainly on the preservation of his personalized attention and confidence entrenched from almost one century by its directors.
Following our ancestors’ apprenticeship, we will continue fighting for the improvement of our products and the progress of our commercial relationships, because then we will be not just developing our company but also we will keep maintaining it onto the honesty and loyalty patterns which make the ones who do business with us be more than clients and suppliers, but partners and friends.
