About us
Starkstrom (London) Ltd is a British company that was founded in 1971 designing and building control panel equipment. In 1995 the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) prepared a draft document detailing electrical installation standards for “Medical Locations”. Central to this document was the requirement of “isolated power” for certain medical locations.
By 1995 Starkstrom already had over 15 years of experience in providing specialist electrical power solutions and had developed an isolated power solution allowing hospitals to meet the impending IEC directive. In November 1995, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital became the first UK Hospital to install a Starkstrom isolated power system meeting all the IEC directives.
On the back of this success, Starkstrom’s product range has since grown to include Clinical Lighting, Pendants, Theatre Control Panels, Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS), X-Ray viewing units, PACS systems, AV Solutions and Battery Backup systems.
We aim to give our customers the opportunity to purchase cutting edge fully integrated operating theatre equipment. Using our expertise we can also help them to meet the strict guidelines that are now in place for electrical power in medical locations, whilst also giving them the opportunity to fully furnish these locations with all of the associated operating theatre infrastructure.
